Sandringham, Yacht Club
The redevelopment of Sandringham Yacht Club involved the complete replacement of approximately 1,200 sqm of existing waterproofing after the original system failed prematurely within around five years.
A major challenge of the project was that much of the existing roof substrate and falls did not comply with Australian Standard AS 4654 for external waterproofing membranes. As a result, the entire existing membrane system had to be removed, followed by the installation of new screeds to achieve compliant falls and proper drainage across the roof areas.
The client selected our preferred Sarnafil waterproofing system with a 20-year manufacturer warranty for long-term performance and reliability. The project was completed using the Sika Sarnafil G410 2.0 mm reinforced PVC membrane system, a premium-grade waterproofing membrane designed for exposed applications requiring exceptional durability, UV resistance, and long-term watertight protection in harsh marine environments.
All membrane seams were professionally heat welded to create a fully fused and continuous waterproofing system, delivering reliable long-term protection for the rebuilt structure.
