Twelve Apostles - New Visitor Centre
The new Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre, located along the iconic coastline and welcoming close to one million visitors annually, is one of our prestige waterproofing projects.
The project involved both above- and below-ground waterproofing systems. A total roof area of 1,700 sqm was waterproofed using the premium Sika Sarnafil G410-20 membrane system — a high-performance, reinforced PVC roofing membrane designed for exposed applications requiring exceptional durability, UV resistance, and long-term waterproof protection. The system also provides certified root resistance, making it ideally suited for green roof applications and landscaped roof areas. Installed in accordance with strict manufacturer specifications, the membrane system was designed to withstand harsh coastal weather conditions and long-term environmental exposure.
For the below-ground waterproofing works, covering approximately 800 sqm, a combined system incorporating Sika Combiflex SG and the cementitious membrane Sika 1K was applied to provide durable and reliable protection against water ingress.
All membrane seams were professionally heat welded to create fully fused watertight joints and independently tested using ILD electronic leak detection to ensure complete waterproof integrity across the entire roofing area.
